if you are looking for a country pub near Thirsk or bed and breakfast near Helmsley, look no further. At the Forresters Arms, we offer a warm welcome stay for those visiting the North Yorkshire Moors, indeed Pickering - the gateway to the North Yorkshire Moors National Park - is just twenty miles to our east.

Renovations to the Forresters Arms have been carried out to enhance the quintessential old country inn charm that the Forresters has become famous for, not discounting the nine guestrooms, which are now all en-suite facilities.

We pride ourselves on hosting one of the premier places to stay close to Thirsk. Whether just a single nights stay or perhaps a long weekend, we are certain that you will enjoy the comfort and facilities on offer.

In our restaurant, we offer a professional waited-on service to add to the overall experience of dining with us. All of our food is made from fresh ingredients and sourced locally where possible and prepared in our in-house kitchens.

Next door to our country inn accommodation is the famous Robert ‘Mousey’ Thompson workshops, which is situated very close to the visitor centre.

Both of our bars are furnished with some fine examples of his early work, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming and will appeal to all ages. The bars are still staunchly supported by the locals, who welcome visitors, and are more than happy to wile away the nights recounting many a local tale!

Kilburn is located around 20 miles north of York centre. It is ideally located for walkers participating in the Cleveland Way. This is the heart of James Herriot Country, within the North York Moors National Park.

We look forward to welcoming you.
