freedom and space of self-catering. Imagine oak floors and panelling,
antique chandeliers, roll top baths and a
big four-poster bed (not to mention a
bath within a bookcase).

 

Pure decadence and attention to detail sets the mood for your luxury visit. From peacock feathers and decorative eggs to engraved brass fittings. Forget magnolia and minimalism; we offer instead decadence, atmosphere and luxury with a twist, with decor intended to delight and amuse.  

 

Our master bedroom is a truly stunning top floor suite in the style of a lavish opera set.  From the king-size four-poster bed stashed with silk & velvet, to the free-standing roll-top bath set beneath the vaulted eaves, to the enormous renaissance artwork – everything is intended as a feast for the senses.

An imposing traditional Georgian dining space with oak refectory table & six chairs, and french doors leading onto a charming flower-filled courtyard for al fresco dining, while the lounge has the air of a gentlemen’s club with oak panelling, oak floor, comfy leather sofas, well-stocked bookshelves and an open fireplace.

 

10 George Street is situated in the heart of one of England’s’ most historic and fascinating cities.  Only 5 minutes walk from the Shambles and 10 minutes from the beautiful York Minster, Walmgate dates back to medieval times and is one of the few residential areas within the famous city walls.
