A traditional 18th-century inn, The Shoulder Of Mutton stands on the edge of the tiny, picturesque village of Kirby Hill and enjoys magnificent panoramic views of Holmedale and beyond.
Open log fires burn in the bar area, where guests may enjoy drinks and bar meals in a relaxing atmosphere, and in the dining room, where exposed stone walls and original beams provide the perfect backdrop for enjoying our renowned home cooking.
Our four double rooms and one family room all have en-suite facilities, colour televisions and tea/coffee trays. The Superior Suite boasts its own private entrance and comprises a double bedroom, a lounge and a bathroom (with a bath).
Real England starts here amidst deep cellars, oak beams, Yorkshire twang and chatter over hand-pulled cask ales such as Daleside and Black Sheep. A large selection of malt whiskies and a comprehensive wine list are available in warm and friendly surroundings.
Surrounded by dramatic moorland and gentle dales, The Shoulder Of Mutton Inn makes an ideal base from which to explore the magnificent North Yorkshire Dales National Park, the North York Moors National Park, the North Pennine Valleys and the East Yorkshire coastline.
