Highfield is a very comfortable house that was built around 1901. It stands in an acre of garden surrounded by open farmland, with views of distant hills in Wales and Shropshire, just 1.5 miles along the Ivington Road from the old market town of Leominster in Herefordshire.
There are three bedrooms available to guests. All the rooms are spacious and attractive with delightful out-looks.
They have trays and kettles for making drinks, and radio alarm clocks, one room has an en-suite bathroom, and the other two have wash basins and bath/shower rooms across the landing. The house is centrally heated but we do provide convector heaters in the rooms should extra heating be necessary.
There is a breakfast menu displayed in the bedr
oom and we like it if people indicate to us the night before what they would like. The dining room at the front of the house has a bay window and so breakfast is often taken in bright sunshine. The lounge has French windows which open on to the patio behind the house and a huge brick fire-place that is very much in use in the Autumn, Winter and Spring when we have roaring log fires going. Because the French windows face west we sometimes see very beautiful sunsets.
The rolling hills of north Herefordshire, market towns and villages that are mentioned in the Doomsday book, waymarked trails for walking, cider and Black & White villages, golf courses, riding and fishing together with pubs, inns and Michelin star restaurants are all within an easy drive of Highfield.
