It is surrounded by formal gardens and terraced lawns which the Wye Valley below, the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons to the West and glimpses of the Malvern Hills from the main bedrooms.
The interior of Bollingham is a delight. Stephanie has combined vibrant colours with fine furniture and family portraits.
The polished floors are covered in antique rugs, divinely comfortable sofas create a style of elegance and heavy silk curtains combine to give you a feeling of glorious comfort without pretence.
Guests are invited to use these spacious rooms - indeed John and Stephanie are relaxed and fun hosts who enjoy nothing better than chatting over a glass of wine by the open fire, telling you about the house and beautiful countryside of Herefordshire.
The area surrounding Bollingham House is full of interesting and challenging places to see and visit. Your time in this area will go so fast you will need to come back again to visit this 'forgotten county' set in the foothills of the Welsh mountains.
Finally, why not finish your day having dinner by candlelight in the intimate dining room overlooking Bollingham Chapel - Stephanie's cooking is worth a detour alone.
