Relax and unwind in this beautiful country house in a stunningly beautiful valley in West Dorset.  You will be welcomed and made to feel 'at home' by Susie and Martyn, your very friendly hosts, for whom nothing is too much trouble.

Wooden Cabbage is a place of peace and tranquility, a place to sink into a comfy sofa and let the cares of the world drift away. The house is beautifully furnished in a country style and scattered with a variety of comfortable antiques.

With crisp cotton sheets, luxuriously comfortable beds, peaceful rooms and beautifully presented bathrooms, the accommodation at Wooden Cabbage is of the highest possible quality.

There are stunning views from the bedrooms across Dorset's fabulous countryside and at twilight you can often glimpse foxes, owls, deer and badgers in the fields.

All rooms have fresh flowers from the garden, dressing gowns (if required), hair dryers, flat screen televisions, tea and coffee tray, and broadband is available.

Breakfasts at Wooden Cabbage reflect the changing seasons; snug by the AGA in the autumn and winter, or out in the Mediterranean atmosphere of the flower-filled garden room in the summer. Everyone loves Susie's homemade jams, marmalades and muesli.

Wooden Cabbage's West Dorset location is ideal for those wanting an active time away, as well as those opting for a more leisurely pace. The beautiful Jurassic Coast is just 11 miles away, and is well known for its fossils.

Being in 'a designated area of outstanding natural beauty' there is no shortage of stunning countryside in which to go walking.  Wooden Cabbage is within 6 miles of Yeovil and 12-15 miles of Dorchester, Bridport and Sherborne.  Close by are the  seaside towns of Lyme Regis and Charmouth.

After a long day out in the fresh air you may wish to enjoy a home-cooked dinner at Wooden Cabbage.  Susie and Martyn's passion for local food is shown in their seasonal menus, featuring local fish, meat, cheeses and vegetables produced nearby.

They often serve freshly-picked vegetables, fruit and herbs from their own kitchen garden for an authentic taste of Dorset.

If you decide to eat out, there are several good pubs and restaurants that can be recommended in the area.
