Ryelands Country House

Ryelands is a delightful Victorian Lakeland Country House, situated on the edge of Grasmere village and set in three acres of pleasant gardens, surrounded by beautiful countryside yet only two minutes walk from the centre of the village.

We offer a choice of three spacious, comfortable double bedrooms all with en suite facilities and superb views of the surrounding fells and the lake.

Each bedroom has been thoughtfully decorated and furnished in a country house style to create a warm, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.

Breakfast is served in our elegant dining room and our menu offers a wide choice to suit all tastes.

A boot and drying room with a payphone is available on request. Private parking is provided and there is garden seating for reading and quiet relaxation.

Grasmere village is one of the most attractive of Lakeland's villages, set in the heart of the Lake District and surrounded by magnificent lake and mountain scenery, making it an ideal base from which to enjoy Cumbria and the National Park at any time of the year.

The surrounding area offers unrivalled walking opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. Many of these walks start from our front door.

 Enjoy the beautiful walk around Grasmere and Rydal lakes, study the vale from the aptly named Loughrigg Terrace or simply stroll along the Rothay riverside walk as it meanders through the village.

Walk up the local fells of Loughrigg, Silver Howe, or Helm Crag and savour the stunning panoramic views.
