Coldbeck House

At Coldbeck House Bed & Breakfast our aim is to offer guests the opportunity to relax and take a break from everyday life while enjoying the comforts and little luxuries provided to make a stay here something rather special.

On your arrival you will be welcomed with a cup of tea and home made cake or biscuits by the log burning stove in the sitting room or, during the summer months, beside the croquet lawn in the garden.

Coldbeck House was originally Georgian, built circa 1820 then later converted to a Victorian gentleman’s residence. The house is full of light, with lovely views – either over the garden or the village. There are many unique and special features in and around the house – especially some splendid examples of Victorian stained and coloured glass.

The two acre grounds can be explored via woodland paths and garden enthusiasts will find a wealth of interesting plants and specimen trees to identify and a small bog garden on the site of the monastery fish pond!

All three rooms are en suite and individually designed and equipped with all the little extras that we hope will make your stay memorable.

Belle has had many years experience in welcoming guests: in 1991 at Crayke Castle she won the Johansens Award of Excellent in 1993 she achieved the English Tourist Board’s accolade of the Best Bed and Breakfast in England.

Visitors to Coldbeck House will benefit from that legacy and Belle will continue to offer guests the highest level of hospitality and delicious breakfasts putting the emphasis on fresh, local ingredients.
