North End Farmhouse B&B, Bolton Nr Appleby, Eden Valley, Cumbria.

Our 17th Century Westmorland longhouse provides guests with very spacious and separate accommodation in the South wing. Bedrooms are beautifully decorated and the large en suite bathrooms even allow you to relax in the bath while looking up at the stars! King-sized beds, comfortable armchairs, freeview television and DVD systems together with tea and coffee making facilities are standard.

During the colder spells a log burning stove will provide a cheery welcome in the guests lounge together with an extensive supply of maps, local guides and other books.

Cumbria is renowned for a wealth of local produce and our breakfasts and evening meals will include as many local ingredients as possible. Meals are served in our garden room with extensive views over Cross Fell and the High Pennines.

Surrounded by the Pennines, the Howgills and East Lakeland fells, the Eden Valley is a beautiful and varied area to discover.

The river Eden rises above the wild Mallerstang valley with hills either side rising to 2000ft (700m) and to then travel through beautiful villages, spectacular wild scenery and historic market towns until it reaches the Solway Firth on the borders with Scotland and England.

Within easy travelling distance from North End are to be found Hadrian’s Wall, Teesdale and High Force, Ullswater with its lake steamers, the historic towns of Appleby, Kirkby Stephen and Penrith and numerous gentle and not so gentle walks and rambles.
