Information
Manchester is one of the most vibrant and dynamic places in the UK. Across Greater Manchester, you'll find a wonderful variety of things to see, do and experience. Whether shopping, eating out, outdoor activities or anything in-between.
As the Gateway to the North, Manchester also provides a perfect base to explore further into the North West. Many of the North's attractions are within easy reach of the city.
Not many cities can boast of thirty different nationalities of the finest cuisine. Manchester has a global feel and flavour all of its own with restaurants and cafes flying flags from around the world neighbouring each other in a city steeped in history and cosmopolitan in choice.
Attractions
If you want museums and art galleries there's the award-winning Museum of Science and Industry, the Manchester Musesum, the refurbished Manchester Art Gallery, the Whitworth Art Gallery and the curving streamlined beauty of Urbis, a new kind of museum exploring people and cities.
History
We also have culture in abundance. Two buildings which typify this are the Bridgewater Hall and the Royal Exchange. One is a striking modern building, home to three orchestras including the Hallé, the other is a spectacular chamber hosting one of the nation's most acclaimed theatres and companies.
